NetworkWorld Ranks Adobe Connect #1 in Webconferencing Vendor Test

Network World conducted side-by-side comparisons of eight of the leading web conferencing vendors and ranked Adobe Connect in a tie for first. The Network World web conferencing vendor test ranked the services according to four scenarios ranging from meetings of two to five people to large scale webinars.

Adobe was excited to see the areas where the review praised Adobe Connect, including the ability to host large-scale webinars calling it a “post-conferencing reporting powerhouse.” Network World also noted “Connect also has the strongest features when it came to measuring audience engagement and supporting archival meeting content.” Other areas where Network World positioned Adobe Connect above other offerings were the recording options available, including the ability to record the chats and participants names, and its mobile client, noting its “consistent user interfaces and clean look.”

In addition, the review discussed persistent URLs for Adobe Connect meeting rooms, calling them “handy when a team is working over a period of time on a set of documents.” As our customers know, this feature is also useful for setting up last-minute, ad hoc meetings.

Another area the review considered was the audio options each service provides. Adobe’s own Alistair Lee recently blogged about the Universal Voice feature, which lets users leverage VoIP or their audio provider of choice.

Adobe Connect Wins “Best of Elearning” Once Again

Elearning! Media Group hosted their Best of Elearning! awards this year, and once again Adobe Connect has been named the 2012 winner in two categories – Best Virtual Classroom, and Best Web Seminar Solution. Even more exciting is that this is the fifth year in a row that it has come home with awards across these categories – winning Best Virtual Classroom in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012; Best Web Seminar Solution in 2010, 2011, and 2012; and an Award of Excellence for both categories in 2009.  Adobe Presenter also earned an Award of Excellence for Best Presentation Tool this year.


More importantly is that the award winners are chosen by users of web conferencing and training products who vote via an open-ended ballot that Elearning! Media Group posts online. ELearning Magazine: Adobe Connect 9 Adds New Features

Elearning Magazine highlights the new features of Adobe Connect 9 in a review by Joe Ganci, President of Dazzle Technologies Corp.  He says, “All in all, Adobe should be very proud of its new release. Announcement Affecting Connect 7.5.x On-Premise Customers

Announcement Affecting Connect 7.5.x on-premise customers:

As of June 1, 2012, the Universal Voice (UV) feature will no longer function in Adobe Connect 7.5.x with on-premise installations, which are accounts where customers have installed Connect on their own servers to run locally. This loss of functionality is due to the expiry of the Flash Media Gateway (FMG) license. To fix this issue, a FMG License patch needs to be applied. Details about the patch and how to apply it can be found here. We apologize for any inconvenience. Customers who have upgraded and are running Connect 8.x are not affected. Please contact Adobe Platinum Support at 866.335.2256 if you are running an affected on-premise account and need help, or contact your GetConnect sales rep.
