Once Again – Forrester Names Adobe Connect a Leader with #1 Ranked Current Offering

The Forrester Wave™: Webconferencing, Q3 2013 is out, and Adobe Connect is ranked a leader, with the top ranked current offering.  Adobe also improved their position in “strategy” as well since the last report in 2010.  What is great about this report, is that it validates Adobe’s strategy and focus around complete solutions for advanced web conferencing use cases, especially webinars and training.  It also states that while HTML5 may come around in the next couple years, Flash is still the most ubiquitous platform out there now to meet the needs for web conferencing – directly in line with our strategy.

Adobe Connect Releases 9.1 Revision

adobe image 28With the release of Adobe Connect 9.1, Adobe adds more than twenty new features to Adobe Connect and resolves more than one hundred issues. The release notes, available here, contain all of the details, but here are some of the highlights.

 

In terms of timing, Adobe Connect 9.1 is available today for Adobe on-premise customers. The rollout has begun to upgrade hosted accounts, also. Please visit this widget for a more specific timeframe as to when your account will be upgraded if it is hosted.

 

What’s so great about this update is that virtually every new feature is based on feedback from Adobe Connect customers. They have listened to what customers have told them is important and taken this opportunity to deliver those features starting today. These new features impact virtually every part of the product.  Here are four sections for you to check out:

  1. recording & playback enhancements,
  2. audio & video enhancements,
  3. event module enhancements,
  4. and training module enhancements.

NetworkWorld Ranks Adobe Connect #1 in Webconferencing Vendor Test

Network World conducted side-by-side comparisons of eight of the leading web conferencing vendors and ranked Adobe Connect in a tie for first. The Network World web conferencing vendor test ranked the services according to four scenarios ranging from meetings of two to five people to large scale webinars.

Adobe was excited to see the areas where the review praised Adobe Connect, including the ability to host large-scale webinars calling it a “post-conferencing reporting powerhouse.” Network World also noted “Connect also has the strongest features when it came to measuring audience engagement and supporting archival meeting content.” Other areas where Network World positioned Adobe Connect above other offerings were the recording options available, including the ability to record the chats and participants names, and its mobile client, noting its “consistent user interfaces and clean look.”

In addition, the review discussed persistent URLs for Adobe Connect meeting rooms, calling them “handy when a team is working over a period of time on a set of documents.” As our customers know, this feature is also useful for setting up last-minute, ad hoc meetings.

Another area the review considered was the audio options each service provides. Adobe’s own Alistair Lee recently blogged about the Universal Voice feature, which lets users leverage VoIP or their audio provider of choice.

ELearning Magazine: Adobe Connect 9 Adds New Features

Elearning Magazine highlights the new features of Adobe Connect 9 in a review by Joe Ganci, President of Dazzle Technologies Corp.  He says, “All in all, Adobe should be very proud of its new release. Sneak Peek Video with New Features for Future Versions of Adobe Connect

System Requirement Changes in New Adobe Connect Release

Adobe Connect: 3 Billion Minutes and Counting

In 2011, Adobe Connect reached a remarkable milestone.  It delivered more than 3 billion minutes on their hosted platform.  This number would be even bigger if they could add the usage numbers from their large on-premise user base.

They are set to continue this growth trend in 2012 with exciting upcoming new releases, Adobe Connect 9 and new versions of their mobile applications to further enable tablet to tablet collaboration.

Adobe Connect Engaging Training in a Synchronous Environment

E-Learning Magazine, in an article by Kim Bahr and Rebecca Bodrero, highlights a case study of Adobe Connect offering engaging training in a synchronus environment.  The case study highlights using economies of scale to reduce costs of travel and offering a broader range of talent and expertise across a broader audience.  In this article, they summarize the techniques used to convert a four-day face to face course to a synchronous distance format, highlighting design considerations, successes, and best practices.  Please check out the article in it entirety.
